Portarlington is located on the border of Laois and
Offaly. The town itself is split by the river Barrow. The Offaly side of
the town hosts the Gracefield GAA club, who are always keen competitors in
challenge matches and tournaments.
Traveling to Portarlington can be completed by road or
rail. The N7 runs about 5 miles south of the town while the rail service separates
in Portarlington to feed The South West, West and East.
