That's Showbiz
Way back in 1995 when the idea of staging a panto in St. Anne's School Hall the suggestion was greeted with incredulity and howls of " no way" "impossible" and "too hard". Ten years later there have been ten very successful panto's produced and performed . The first production was "Cinderella " in January 1996. It proved a winner with both audience and cast alike and inspired subsequent productions such as " Babes in the Wood" , "Alladin" , " Little Red Riding Hood ", "Jack and the Bean Stalk " and " Snow White" Each production got more elaborate and adventurous and professional. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the panto this years production was "Cinderella" - the show that started it all ten years ago. This staged in the last week of January and the first week of February and would rival any of the professional productions . The Director , actors , set designers, sound technicians, stage management are all done on a voluntary basis by parents from the school , teachers and others in the community. The pupils in the school have also a major part to play with some 120 acting singing or dancing in this years production. Plans are already being worked on for next years production ..watch this space |
