The Association is affiliated to the National Parents
Council- Primary Division (NPC-Primary), which is the umbrella organisation
for all Parents Associations in the country. The NPC-Primary gives parents/guardians access to advice and information on national developments in
education. They also have a voice in the decision making process through
consultation with the Department of Education, the Management bodies and
teachers’ representatives.
Included in the work of the Parents Association are parties
and other social events organised for the children. Events are also organised for Parents/Guardians, e.g. Secondary Schools information night (every two years), evening lectures on a
range of topics. The Parents Association also produce a regular newsletter and are involved in First Communion, Confirmation, 6th Class Graduation, Welcome for new Parents and other
events.
Notices of upcoming events and activities are posted on notice boards, their website and notes in school bags..
Parents are encouraged to become involved in the work of
the Association, either by joining the committee or by offering help in running events they organise. Comments and ideas are always
welcome and should be placed in the suggestion box in the school secretary’s office or by sending an email.
The Parents Association AGM is held in September or October of each year.
