Art is a means of making and communicating meaning through imagery. Visual arts activities enable the child to make connections between the imaginative life and the world, and to organise ideas, feelings and experiences in visual, tangible form (Primary School Curriculum, 1999, p. 5). The six strands are drawing, painting, print, clay, construction, fabric and fibre.
