Essentials
The Introduction to Windows class provides a solid foundation for all other InfoTech Training classes for those with little or no experience with Personal Computers (PC). The Electronic File Management course is designed to increase organization of files for a person who has a large number of working documents.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify hardware and software
- Identify and explain input devices
- Identify and explain output devices
- Identify and explain drives and drive names
- Identify and use objects on the Windows desktop
- Open, move, size and close a window
- View resources using My Computer
- Create a document using Accessories
- Send and restore files from the Recycle Bin
- Use Help
- Shut down Windows
- Identify the Control Panel, System Tools, Printer controls and Display Properties
PREREQUISITES: None.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify drives
- Create and delete shortcuts
- Work in the Explorer Window
- Create, rename and delete folders
- Organize files and folders
- View properties for files, folders and drives
- Find files
- Copy items between applications
PREREQUISITES: Introduction to Windows or knowledge of mouse skills

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify icons and toolbars on the Windows Desktop
- Use the mouse to select and open applications
- Work with icons, menus and toolbars
- Adjust Window size on the Desktop
- Open and move between multiple applications
- Open and navigate web pages
- Use hypertext links
- Create and use bookmarks
