Side Stories

Below are links to all of the Side Stories in Arrival. All of these links are to elaborations of topics mentioned briefly in The Main Story. Some of them are brief, others quite lengthy, providing fuller elaborations of the ideas involved in relation to the development of one or more 'greats'. After each link I've listed the 'greats' who are discussed, sometimes briefly, sometimes quite extensively.

The second to last link in this group - "And as for Heroes?" - summarizes, tongue in cheek, the implications of Arrival's analysis for those still aiming for the big one.

And after that, especially if you're feeling 'Geez what's the use? Why give it a go at all??.' Well my take's just the opposite. check it out on the last link here, "And you and me???"

Near the bottom of this page there are links to excerpts from the three lengthy case studies in Arrival, those of Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Guthrie, and Norma Jeane/Marilyn.

Below this there are 4 samples of Research Notes from Arrival. I've included these to give you a sense of the range and depth of research which was considered in developing the analysis presented in the book. The last Note included here is re Einstein's early years.

The final link - "What's it all mean?" - gives you my take on the whole analysis, on it's effects on my own thinking and life. Maybe you'll have a few thoughts of your own to add. If so send them along. I'll put them up on the QueriesComments page.
