Liz Mellon

Launch of Wind in the Wire, a poetry chapbook by Liz Mellon.

Liz Mellon was born in Dublin in 1954 where she studied English Literature at Trinity College, Dublin. She has had a variety of jobs, one of which was as a zoo-keeper in London. She's now living in Co. Wexford, Ireland, with her partner Fiana.

Wind in the Wire is published by Zenane Independent Media os Seattle, Washington, USA in a limited edition of 220 copies.

“We catch Liz Mellon's poems out of the corner of the eye. They make their occasions, as she puts it, at ‘the edge of the word’ or ‘the white side of the night’. She gives vivid expression to both delight and disenchantment (sometimes in the same poem). She shapes her edgy, gnomic utterances with a natural’s sense of rhythm and cadence. Liz Mellon’s poems are like pebbles skimmed with a graceful flick of the wrist over deep waters. There are several perfect lyrics in this lovely collection.”
