[883] Both Edward and Daniel appear on the 1820 census in Hector, NY. Aland deed indicates that Edward's wife was Sarah. Edward moved toHoward, Steuben co., NY about 1830. Edward's wife Sarah had 13children, according to census records, but some may be Hortons from afirst marriage. Some of Edward's daughters are not known. Daniel'sdeath record in Jackson co., MI indicates that his parents were"Edwards and Mariah Weeks"--the old handwriting probably made the Mlook like W; Mariah could have been a first wife of Edward. Furtherinfo seems to indicate that Edward's wife Sarah was a Nicholson andthat she was too young to be mother of Edward's oldest children. Thefact that Edward's daughter Maria was born in 1810 may indicate thatMaria was the 1st daughter born to Edward and Sarah, named afterEdward's first wife, as was customary. So it seems that both Edwardand Sarah were married to other people before they married each other.

Edward was named as executor of his father's will in Philipstown,dated 6/2/1797 and probated 11/20/1799.
