The Maps below show "our territory" as it was then. They were given to us by the U.D.C.

East Barracks

This map shows the East Barracks which is where the present day G.A.A. pitch is located today. The East Barracks was known as the Old Barracks. It had officers quarters, calvary barracks and a canteen.

The West Barracks was built later and was known as the New Barracks

Notice there is no sign of Wolfe Tone Park yet! (see top left corner of map).

This "territory" is still pretty similar St.James Place still exists and St Anne's guest house is located in Abercromby Place

The Town Park is still "No Mans Land " in this map!


West Barracks

This map shows the West Barracks. It contained officers quarters and a canteen. There was also a gym and a library for the officers. This land is now the Showgrounds

Notice the railway tracks at the top, leading to Fermoy Railway station. The Gate Lodge is now a childrens creche.
