Hold your fire!!!......

St Mark's troops would like to offer sincere thanks to all for taking the time, under constant gun fire!, to reconnoitre our site and all who were bombarded for information and knowledge about Fermoy army through the ages.

Although this project was extremely time consuming, it was a lot of fun piecing the project together, adding both useful and interesting information, as well as fun things, like quizzes. But none of this project would have been completed without the generosity and endless co-operation of some very special people.

Thanks to Christy Roche for taking time to come in and talk to us, Bill Hammond, for his permission to include his book "Soldier of the Rear Guard" on our website.

Thanks to Fermoy library, Cork City Library & UCC library for being generous enough to provide us with so much helpful information through the many unique dusty books they gave us to research.

Thanks also to the newspapers who took the time to forward us past articles, which they featured in past or recent newspapers. These include - the "Examiner",our local newspaper "The Avondhu" and "The Corkman".

Thanks to the families and friends of girls in the class who provided us with interviews of their personal experiences in the army.

The Urban District Council for providing us with maps of surrounding areas of Fermoy during the era of Fermoy army.

Thanks also to Cavanagh's Photoshop, Stritch Photography and Mr. Mick Lillis who helped with the photographs for this site.

We would also like to thank General Fennessy, Commanding Officer O'Donovan, Sergeant Margaret & all other commanding officers from whom we took time out of classes while working on this mission!

Now finally the people who made it all possible, the real superstars of this project - every student in St. Marks Army of Second Years. Every trooper had a duty to perform, therefore, everyone contributed, in whatever "major" or minor way. Together we worked as a team, and a fine team we made!! There were no skirmishes or casualities on this campaign. Everyone who played a part in completing this website should get enormous satisfaction in knowing that it has been very successful, educational and well worth the work whether we win or loose...thanking you once again and hoping to see you again soon!...............
