The first painting I ever sold. It was a spur of the moment oil that I did, using just black and white oils. I was told to put a frame on it, so I got some skirting board, mitred it and nailed it on the edge of the canvas and THEN painted it grey. A few weeks later the owner of the oil took it to a framer to have a new frame put on it and she called me over to view the mess, all these pin holes in the edge of the canvas and a thin grey line round the sides. Oh well we all live and learn as they say. It sold at the Beara Arts Show up at the Community School in Castletownbere, West Cork |
