Marriage Licence Bonds
These are available on the shelves in National Archives Reading Room in the form of a number of index books. Each one covers a diocese for protestant established church marriages from the late 1680s to around 1860. All you get is the name of both parties to the marriage, arranged aphabetically. The books these indexes lead to do not survive. Although the information is so limited, it is useful where it predates parish records.
