Glenageary/Killiney National School are very fortunate to have a wonderful library/computer room. The library holds nearly 8,000 resources. Each of these resources has been barcoded and the "Alice" package by Softlink is used very successfully. All classes from First Class upwards have access to the library, every morning, before school starts, as well as their allotted class times. Parents are very welcome to come and help their children choose books, videos and cds. (See below for any new resources in the library.) The computer room was set up ten years ago and it holds 18 networked computers. All classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class have access to the computers and are introduced to many different types of software throughout their years in Glenageary/Killiney National School.
New Resources
This is an excellent publication of Ireland's Mammals and has received support from the Dept.of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. The text is very informative with stunning photographs and illustrations. It gives a paragraph in Irish on each mammal at the back of the book. An excellent book suited for confident readers.
These books are beautifully illustrated and are suitable for the younger reader. Each comes with its own CD.
