Staff The Staff Schedule for 2006/2007
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Cummins who hails from nearby Deansgrange. Mrs Cummins comes highly recommended with excellent references and we look forward to welcoming her in September. Ms. Clara Richardson lives in Sandyford and completed her final teaching practice in Glenageary Killiney N.S. earlier this year. We were extremely impressed with her teaching ability during her time here. She trained in the Church of Ireland College of Education.
End of Term Service We say goodbye and best wishes to Sixth Class as they receive their certificates, from Ms. Fiona O'Malley, on completion of Primary School, at the end of term service on Friday, 30th June 2006.
Miss Gilliland Congratulations to Miss Gilliland on her thirty years service to Glenageary/Killiney National School.
Minister for Education & Science - Mary Hanafin - Visited School on Friday 9th June. The Minister for Education & Science returned to the school on Friday, 9th June between 1.00 pm & 2.00 pm. She visited all the classes.
The Swimming Gala The Swimming Gala was held on 8th June 2006, at Newpark Pool. Thank you to the Parents' Association for organising it. Great fun was had by all! Texaco Art Competition Congratulations to Ms Kim Jennings in 6th Class who
received a Certificate of Commendation for her artwork in the Texaco
Children's Art Competition 2006. There were over 30,000 entries so
receiving a Commendation is quite an honour, well done Kim! School Bags If and when you are purchasing a new schoolbag for your child - please do not buy the bags on wheels. We have found them extremely dangerous when the children are lining up to go home as the children are inclined to trip over the wheels.
The NCCA posted copies to the school of
a DVD on the What, Why and How of Children's Learning in Primary School.
The DVD supplies parents with detailed information about the Primary
School Curriculum. Every parent should have received their copy of the
DVD, if not, please contact the school office. We wish the pupils of Sixth Class every
success as they leave us to take their places in Secondary School in
September. Believe it or not, we grow very fond of our charges over
the years. This is a big step for them as they move to Secondary School.
We hope they will visit us from time to time.
