Glenageary Killiney National School is a Co-Educational School under Church of Ireland (Anglican) Management. Although 12 full-time teachers are employed, the school boasts a number of part-time and additional full-time staff, totalling 24.

There are 245 children enrolled in the school, one teacher per class from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. However, GKNS will have 2 classes of Junior Infants in September 2006. Due to the number of applicants from the parishes of Holy Trinity, St. Matthias’ and St. Paul’s, the Board of Management decided to allow the two classes, as a ‘once off’ for the year 2006/2007. There will be 24 approximately in each Junior Infant class. Plans are in progress to undertake some internal works during the summer holidays in order to have suitable accommodation for the extra class.

Subjects covered in the curriculum include, English, Mathematics, Irish, Social and Environmental Studies including History Geography, SPHE, Music, Art & Craft , Physical Education, Drama and Religious Education. (Recorder is taught to all pupils in second class and becomes optional from third to sixth class) Other activities organised by the school take place outside school hours Saxophone, Clarinet, Guitar & Playball.
