Telescopes and Hoists |

The modern suspended lighting grid allows for the use of moveable telescopic and pantographic lamp hangers, which can allow lamps to be lowered down to working height at the studio floor. (This is subject to the height of the grid above the studio floor). The lamps can also be raised or lowered to meet the Lighting Director's requirements for lighting the programme presenter, the set or whatever.
Motorised Hoists are also used to lift up heavy pieces of flown scenery, suspended camera platforms, video walls, etc. In some instances lamps may be mounted on a lighting truss which in turn will be raised into position by a motorised hoist fitted to the grid.
Telescopes are also used to hang studio picture monitors where crew and audience can see them.
