HUDDERSFIELD
COLLEGE PRIZE MEDALS.
THE FRENCH
AND GERMAN SILVER MEDALS.
In 1848 the Council of the school instituted a medal for proficiency in French and German. In 1862 and 1863 the medal was presented by Joseph Sykes of Lindley. In 1864 separate medals were presented for each language, that for French by W Mallinson, the vice-President, and that for German by Joseph Sykes, and then successively by his executors and William Sykes.
