The large images can be browsed below. You may switch to another photo viewing method by choosing one of the icons above. Or you can select the images of another country from the list, also above.

The Killing Fields near Phnom Penh. These pits are where thousands of bodies were buried.

A child at the Bayon, Angkor, with one of the temple's many eerie, gargantuan faces of Avalokitesvara (the Buddha of Compassion) smiling high above him.

The Bayon reflected in a pool of water.

Angkor Thom is a temple that has been left the way explorers found it, with massive tree roots growing all through the stone work. A very atmospheric place.

A monk posing outside Angkor's most famous temple, Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the world's largest temple and is said by many to be one of the most inspired and spectacular monuments ever conceived by the human mind. I wouldn't disagree.

I was lucky enough to come across a dancing troupe being filmed in front of the Bayon and I got some photos like this one even without having a zoom lens.

The dancing troupe poses for a group photo outside the Bayon.

On the left can be seen a 900 year old carving of two apsaras (dancers) and to its right the modern day version.

Two apsaras looking out an Angkor Wat window at another dance troupe.

Apsaras are not allowed to show their teeth while performing, they are expected to have a permanent, close-lipped, enigmatic smile on their face. It was only after people stopped photographing these girls that they broke out into beautiful smiles.
