GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS
School Attendance It is very important to send your child to school every day. Children should be kept at home only when absolutely necessary.
Hygiene Please take care that children are clean and tidy coming to school, for the child's own sake and in consideration for classmates.
Name-tags It is very helpful if the children's personal belongings, especially books, are name-tagged.
School-books The children receive book lists at the end of each school year. New books can be bought in Clonmel. As books have become very expensive, the children should be urged to look after their books. The School has put a Book Rental Scheme in place to ease the burden on parents. Please contact class teacher for details.
LunchesThe children are encouraged to bring healthy nutritious lunches and not to waste food.
Litter We hope that parents will support our policy of litter-control and environmental awareness.
Fund-raising As the need arises the school runs various events to raise money for certain charities and to supplement the school budget. These events include school-concerts, cake-sales, and sponsored activities (e.g. spellings, reading, sports etc.). The parents' support and co-operation are always forthcoming and are much appreciated.
Road SafetyThe school urges motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution on the Rocklow Road.
ConsultationThis school attaches great importance to home-school co-operation and encourages parents to discuss with the school any problems relating to their child's education. This can be done by appointment at any time. Parents will be notified if teachers are holding group meetings or meetings with individual parents.
Parents Association. We are very fortunate to have an active parents association in our school. New members are always appreciated.
