Scoil San
Phroinsías, Tirellan, was set up as a temporary primary school in September 1985, with
two assistant teachers and 31 children. It was located in a bungalow in the centre of
Tirellan that used to be a church. New 8 room extension added on in 1995
In April 1988, a brand new school way opened by then the Minister of Education, Mrs. Mary O Rourke. This new school had eight classrooms with a P.E hall a library and a staff room. The school continued to grow and grow. By 1994 there were over 500 children attending our school. On the 9th of June 1995 another eight-room extension was added to the school. There are now 21 teachers and over 500 children attending Scoil San Phroinsías. |
