[1284] Often called "Naomi" on official records.
[1285] Gravestone gives her age at death as 43yr-8mo-28da.
[1286] The "Between the Lakes" book with cemetery lists gives the death dateas 1851, but the 1850 census deaths indicates that she died in 1850.(Plus she was not in her husband's household in 1850.)

Her death certificate lists her parents as "Frank Stuart and HelenBrown".--But there is much evidence to indicate that Frederick A.Stuart and his wife Helen M. Brown (both born in CT) were her parents:1) Census records show Frederick & Helen had a daughter Rebecca ofthe correct age; 2) A living great-grandaughter of Frederick (Mary JoStuart Wilcox) remembers visiting her father's cousin Jay Stone ofMontour Falls, NY--son of Rebecca Stuart Stone (verifying theconnection); 3) Josephine Stuart's will names her siblings--incl."Rebecca Stone". 4) Rebecca's marriage announcement in the Tiogaco., PA Agitator (Jan. 11, 1865) places her in Tioga co. at the sametime as Frederick & family, who came to Mansfield c1863 (per Fred'sobit).
Rebecca did not appear in her father's household on the 1860 census. She seems to be the same Rebecca "Stewart" on the 1855 Catharinecensus with her uncle S. B. Hill and aunt Sally (perhaps she lived andworked for them for a time.) Sally (Sarah?) Hill is very likely asister of Helen Brown, though there is no proof of this yet. RebeccaStuart is on the 1860 census in the household of Frederick A. Hill &his wife Theresa Lee, in Catharine, Schuyler co., NY - not far fromthe Stone family of Frost Hill (Rebecca's future in-laws). (Frederick& Theresa were married on 22 Nov. 1856 and were around the same age asRebecca. Frederick Hill was probably her first cousin, possibly namedafter her father?) The family of Theresa Lee was living right nextdoor to S. B. Hill on the 1855 census. (Theresa's parents were S.D. &Rebecca Lee.)
[63] No marker exists for her in Montour Falls cemetery, though she isdocumented as buried in lot 199 in that cemetery, from burial recordsin Montour Library. Lot 199, block 9 of Montour cem. also includesRebecca's husband Charles W. Stone, her son Fred (& his wifeElizabeth) and her daughter Nellie (and Nellie's husband Coral Meeks, and his 2nd wife Eleanor.) Two unused spaces exist on the south sideof lot 199 - one has an old pine tree so Rebecca probably lies next toElizabeth (MacDougal) Stone in an unmarked grave.
[2281] Tioga Agitator issue dated Jan 11, 1865 said that "Charles W. Stone ofMontour, Schuyler co., NY married on the '31st ult.' (31st ofprevious month, December) to Rebecca Stuart of Tioga co., PA, by theRev. D.R. McDermond."
