Membership of the Forum
is made up of:

One member from each of the network areas:
-
Who is a member of, and is participating within, the network, including the Literacy Schemes and Home School Liaison Service.

Who will represent the network on the forum;
-
Who will communicate effectively with the network on the work of
the forum
-
One member from each of five educational/training categories –
UCC; CIT; Further Education; Second level education, and FÁS
-
Five members from the Adult Education Board.
The forum has a
number of Role Tasks and Responsibilities. These are:
1.
To advise
the Adult Education Board on all matters pertaining to Adult Community Education
matters.
2.
To
deliberate, assess and draw together the network area based plans to evolve a
City Wide plan.
3.
To resolve
identifiable gaps on the educational landscape.
4.
To recommend
measures to avoid duplication and other practices not in accordance with “best
practice”.
It is through the forum that
adult education planning and implementation of Community Education will be
achieved.
It is envisaged that through this mechanism the Adult Education Board
will comprise of representatives of all those who are involved in Community
Education within the city.
