Plan opposed by Mr. Breslin on ground that frontage came further out than four houses of his at Florence terrace. To their injury, Mr. Smyth said owners made mistake in this case, by allowing too much frontage, which they meant to correct, as they would not destroy a whole new street for Breslin's four houses. Breslin said they would destroy the houses which were the best property in Bray (hear, hear). Artisans' Dwellings Co. stating they had under consideration extending operation to Bray, & were in negotiation for site on Commons, near Cripples' Home - to erect 62 cottages - 5 of superior class facing main road, 18 three roomed & 39 two roomed. Plan proposed opening of road at right angles to main road, & directors wished to know if Commrs. would lay down sewer & light road if Coy. build. Letter referred to Mr. Comber who reported erection of such a large number of healthy dwellings for labouring classes would be great boon to town, & particularly Little Bray, where poor were so badly housed - But no precedent for board undertaking to lay down roads, etc. - such always done by owners.
