CARNEROS CREEK |
CARNEROS CREEK WINERY
Owner, Francis Mahoney whose father emigrated to the U.S.A from Skibbereen, set out in search of a dream in the early 1970s. His love of Burgundy had fuelled a desire to produce the finest Pinot Noir California could offer. His obsessive attention to detail is rewarded by a bright, fragrent Pinot Noir with luscious black cherry fruit and stylish citrus scented Chardonnay with a creamy, toast finish.

CHAPPELLET |
CHAPPELLET VINEYARD
Established in 1967 by Donn and Molly Chappellet, Chappellet Vineyard was the second new winery built in the Napa valley since Prohibition, and one of the earliest to actively pursue hillside farming. Donn is convinced that his hillside-grown grapes often produce unique wines with more depth, balance and long term aging potential than his valley counterparts. "I strive to make Cabernets comparable to the best wines throughout the world" says Donn. "The volcanic soils and warm, dry temperatures of Pritchard Hill contribute both force and finesse, the essence of truely great wine".

BONNY DOON |
BONNY DOON
Randall Grahm continues on his crusade to further the cause of lesser known varietals. The aims of the Bonny Doon vineyard are to produce wines and labels to scintillate the senses; to retain as much of the natural qualities of the grapes as possible; to produce quality fruit through careful vineyard management and finally, and most importantly, to have fun. Ayone familiar with these wines, will know they have succeeded in fulfilling and maintaining all of the above objectives. |

RIDGE |
Decanter Magazine's Man of the Year 2000, Paul Draper, winemaker at ridge since 1996, has made his reputation by keeping things simple. His approach is to find the most intense and flavourful grapes, intrude minimally on the natural process, and draw all the fruit's richness into the wines. Year after year, he astounds us with the incomparable brilliance of these wines and it is not for nothing that Ridge is considered the First Growth property of California. |
