September 2000
3rd class won a prize in the Sherkin Island Marine Station
Environment competition.
Deirdre Flynn, 6th class won a prize in the individual section of the same
competition.
October 2000
Deirdre Morrissey, 6th class won a prize in the Waterford County Council
Environment Art competition.
December 2000
Our Christmas Concert took place in Our Lady of Mercy Church. All classes
took part. Most of the classes sang carols and said poems. They did the actions
to the poems. 5th and 6th classes did a play. It was about the birth of Jesus.
We raised around £180.00.
January 2001
Mandy Veale 6th class was a runner up in an Irish Composition Competition
organised by Port Lairge le Gaolainn. Her story was titled Breithlá mo Mhamaí.
She will receive 10 pounds.
