David Hayes was born on the 7th of September 1983. He spent the bulk of his teenage years playing in a band, unfortunately titled the Messiah Operation, under the name of David Delanee alongside guitarist Paul Campbell, drummer Jon Leech and singer Enda Byrne. After school he and the other band members took a year off to try and promote the group, despite their sorry lack of talent or ability. Six months into this year and the members had lost belief and began to research their Third Level options. Delanee would keep in contact with
A year without study and an average Leaving certificate restricted Hayes. He opted to do marketing in college, not influenced by interest but rather by restrictions. He finished his diploma after three years and received a job as sales manager in a small meat product company based in Chapelizod. Hayes was not happy in work and received no great pay packet. He lived alone in his small home in Kilester. In his mid twenties Hayes developed an alcohol dependency, despite having neither a liking nor a great capacity for it. The joys in his life were his Boxer dog and his bass guitar. He had few relations with women and considered himself lucky not to have died a 'virgin or a sex offender'. In 2036 his mother died, four days before his 33rd birthday. Shortly after Hayes was treated with clinical depression. On October 22nd of 2036 David Hayes was declared dead. A police statement confirmed it as suicide. He was buried in Glasnevin cemetery. A considerable crowd attended the funeral including his former band mates, most notably Jon Leech, who travelled from Canada where he practised as a vet. "oh him, he was an asshole" |
