The Portlaw N.S. Clean Up

On the 17th and 18th of April 1998 the children of Portlaw NS commenced a sponsored clean-up around the streets of Portlaw. The people of Portlaw gladly sponsored the children. Over two dozen bags of rubbish were collected. We would like to thank anyone who sponsored us.

Vivianne Dool, Anti Litter Supervisor from the Dungarvan Litter Office gave the children black sacks, gloves and rubbish pickers and rewarded the children with crisps, and drinks each day. The proceeds went to Telethon People in Need. Those involved were Denise Heffernan, Ann Sexton , Donna Walsh , Stacey Ann Delaney, Niall Morrissey , Shanaugh Walshe , Rosaleen Carroll , Alan Wade , Lisa Nolan , James Walsh ,Claire O’ Dunoghue , Garry Power , Jason King, Martin Heffernan , Robert Rockett and Lorraine Donnelly .These children collected £150.

The school is now in a "Tidy Schools Competition" and we hope that the pupils make an effort to keep our school clean and tidy.
