| The sun shone again for us in 2003 and our run was a great day. A photographer from the News & Star took photos for the paper. Paul Power and Niall Fitzgerald were joint winners and Melissa McInerney was the fastest girl. Ms O'Loughlin was the first teacher home. Once again we had lovely apples from Mr. & Mrs. Little, and a surprise visitor!!
"On your marks!!" The sun shone for the first time in
many days for our Fun Run 2002. Warm-ups were completed in the yard
and the run began at 9.45 a.m. Special thanks to Mr. & Mrs.
Philip Little who generously gave several boxes of lovely apples for all the
competitors.
The Portlaw school holds a Fun Run every year in October. In this event we raise funds for school computers, books and games etc. Each pupil in the school runs, walks and jogs on this fun day. The junior and senior infants walk a shorter route. The full circuit is about 6k.m. long. When the run is over we get milk, apples, and sweets. Fun Run 1992.......who is athlete???
