The SQUARE.

The square used to have Mayfield Stores to the right and the old day Dispensary to the left by the end of Brown Street and to the start of George’s Street. These two buildings are still standing but are not still open. The Malcolmsons as part of the design built them for Portlaw, they are supposed to have ‘Portlaw Roofs’. One of the very wide roads developed by the Malcolmsons is Factory Road. It is leading up to the entrance of the old Cotton Factory/Old Tannery.

Mayfield stores was one of the main building contributing to the unique web design. William St is to the the right and Georges St is to the left. The building contributing to the overall design of the square and village.

View facing up Brown St. from Square and although much of Brown St. has been rebuilt the very wide road is part of the Malcolmson development.
