Following their dramatic victory over Kerry in the Munster U-21 football final we were delighted to welcome manager Pat Nugent, midfielders Michael Walsh and Seán Dempsey, and goalkeeper David Hickey to the school.  The players brought along the Easter Cup ( Munster cup) and despite a hectic schedule they visited all the classrooms.
One of the stars of the team was our past pupil Edmond Rockett.  Edmond captained the U-10 footballers to victory in 1993, and won U-13 football and hurling medals with the school.  Our visitors were very interested to find the "young" Edmond among the pictures which hang in the school.
Well done to Edmond and all the U-21 footballers.
A special thanks to Miss Quinlan an avid football supporter who was responsible for the visit.  Another connection with the footballers.......Miss O'Loughlin's brother came on as substitute in the final.
