Crickmer, Walter - 1931 - 1932; 1937 - 1945
| |
Although he was never officially installed as manager, Walter Crickmer took charge of team affairs at United twice during his 38-year career as secretary.
The first spell was after Herbert Bamlett's departure in 1931. The second was when he bridged the gap while United were manager-less between 1937 and the end of the Second World War. He died in the Munich air disaster.
