This Project was huge compared to anything the class had been given before.
It proved a bit ambitious time wise, and many parts were dropped due to time
constraints.
The
projects called for a complete design for a housing estate, from it's individual
houses, to the overall layout of the site. The site is an actual site in Newtown
mount Kennedy, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. The project also called for a brochure
to be done for the finished estate.
The
Site was approx. 6 acres, we had to have density of 10 houses per acre while
allowing at least 10% for open green space. The estate had to a mixed group
different houses of different values and sizes.
There
were 5 different types of dwelling.

4 Bedroom Detached
Each
house had to be distributed equally around the estate. The plans for each
house were left to the individual to design. Due to time restraints only plans,
sections, and elevations for 3 of the 5 houses were needed to complete this
phase of the project.
The
sketch requirement was dropped from the project, I had done some preliminary
work on a complete 3d model for this, although I never finished it because
it was dropped, it is on display in the gallery below.
