Christmas concert in full
swing
    Beaumont B.N.S. has given many memorable and
highly acclaimed
concerts over the years, both in and out of the
school. As well as
being regular performers at the Cór Fhéile na Scoil
and the Cork
International Choral and Folk dance festival, Beaumont
Boys
also performed with distinction at lunchtime concert for
Alliance
Francaise de Cork at city hall recently.
    In School performances and concerts include
many
Christmas/ Nativity/ Carol Concerts, which have become an
annual
event, as well as Easter pageants and summer breaking-up
Concerts
in the Halla Mór, all attended by the parents. Last Christmas
(2000),
The boys performed magnificently at the Annual Carol Concert
in
St. Michael's Church and were very well received. Unfortunately
this years Cór Fhéile (2001) was unavoidably cancelled at short
notice, due to the foot and mouth outbreak, but the school choir
have also given
an Easter recital in St. Michaels. Church
for the Childrens' Mass of the Ascension last May.
    However, by far the most outstanding concerts in the school's history have been
    Joseph was performed in 1993 to commemorate
Scoil Barra's
25 year history since 1968 and was staged in Scoil Ursula, Blackrock.
    Oliver was performed in 1996 and was performed in the City Hall
    Superstar, that original christmas pageant,
with excerpts from Jesus
Christ Superstar and Godspell, was performed in
1998 at St. Michaels
Church, Blackrock
Bugsy malone was performed at Scoil Barra in 1995
    Choreography, Casting, rehearsing etc.
for all the school's
concerts have usually been done in conjunction
with the Speech
and Drama Teachers, who also do tremendous work
in preparing
the boys for the feis, both in class groups and individual
events.
