Using watercolours in a strong individual style, ranging from figurative to abstract, she has had many successful exhibitions, both solo and group, North and South.
In 1994 she contracted Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, and subsequently began to take an interest in Art in Healing.
Eventually she hopes to practise Art Therapy.
Following her illness Jill published a small book of self-portraits with a text, depicting her journey into healing, entitled Becoming The Tree.
This was adapted for a dramatised presentation by her friend, Ann Henning Jocelyn. She also donated a group of paintings to the University College Hospital, Galway, where she was treated.
Although the bulk of her work has been in watercolour, she also paints in oils, and more recently has been engaged in the creation of sculptures in bronze.
Jill moved to Galway City in 1998 where she has been involved with the Community Arts Company Macnas, and has continued with her own artwork.
