An Chomhairle approved the report of the Director of Services on the following motion:

'That this City Council mindful of the Great Cork Industrial Exhibition of 1902 agrees to report on the feasibility of an anniversary event with assistance / involvement from Industry, Commerce, Education, Health and others, as a City of Culture 2005 event'.

The report of the Director of Services stated that the Capital of Culture 2005 team would examine all relevant events in Cork history including the Great Industrial Exhibition of 1902 during their investigation of themes and events for 2005.

Industry, Commerce and Health have already been identified as key stakeholders partners by the Capital of Culture team.
