This is me fixing the church...

And this is the finished model with rotating cross.

When our teacher told us we were starting a Lego Project we were really excited and had loads of qustions to ask about it.The Lego arrived before Christmas and we started straight away fixing everything in its correct place. We decided to do Lego on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1.30 to 3.00 pm, so as not to interfere with other activities the school was involved with.
We started by building something easy like a house or a car that would move when you pushed it, but little did we know that things would get harder, much harder!! After about a month we went to Kilkenny and spent the day with two other schools, Ballyadams NS and Clontubrid NS, in the Educaton Centre. Before Christmas we had to make an animal. my partner was Fiona, and we made a dog. We called it Space Dog.We had regular visits from the Lego co-ordinator Deirdre Butler, and she helped us a lot. During the year we visited the Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin. We spent a lot of time looking at the exhibits, and we learned a lot of new things from the Lego there.
Then one day we were told we had to do a big Lego Project. We decided we would do the project about Mullinahone, the 'Little Village' that we live in. We thought of some important things to make, split into groups, and made what we were assigned to. Fiona and Niamh were in my group. We were making Killaghy Castle. First Fiona made the ca and Niamh and I started to build the gate. After that I helped Laura to build her boat. Then I built the church and made the cross on top move around. The last thing I made was a rubbish truck.

A rubbish truck for Mullinahone.

Killaghy Castle. My friend Fiona and I made it.
