Date of Birth: 09/11/1968 Education:Attended Professional Children's School in New York City. "I have trouble with the c words…career, commitment…and a few more I won't mention. Six months into the run of Ally, I was still driving a rental car because I didn't trust the show would last. I still rent a month-to-month one-bedroom apartment. I rent my furniture. I rent my television." - TV Guide At the age of 15, Jane was already a show business veteran. Soap fans will remember a teenage Jane played T.R. Kendall on Search for Tomorrow, earning two Emmy nominations for her work. She went on to cause a sensation on Broadway, garnering a Tony nomination for her role in the Tommy Tune musical Grand Hotel. (Her Broadway credits also include Company, Starlight Express and Stepping Out in which she co-starred with Liza Minnelli.) A few years back, she auditioned several times for the role of Rachel on Friends. Jennifer Aniston beat her out for the part, but that's probably for the best because Jane wound up winning a role she was more suited to, that of Ally McBeal's busybody Elaine. In her spare time, Jane takes dancing classes. She began studying ballet at the age of 3 and might have ended up a professional dancer if her soap acting career hadn't taken off when she was 15. Eagle-eyed viewers caught Jane (at 19) playing a babysitter in Fatal Attraction, and more recently saw her playing "Wanda" in the Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earl" video. But did you know that her best friend roomed with Calista Flockhart in college? |
