This year we have decided to combine the Christmas draw with a night out for all. There will be a DJ on the night. Platters of food will be served and you and yours could be in with a chance to win any one of 30 fantastic prizes. 01-12-04: Coaching Course.
A FAI coaching course, Kick Start 1, will be held in Wolfe Tone YC on Friday 7th (7-10 pm) and Saturday 8th (11am- 4 pm) January 2005. Numbers are limited to 30. The fee is €40. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Paul McManus- 086 819 3917. This is the first time this course will be delivered anywhere in the country. Also, the launch of the FAI Technical Development Plan takes place in Ashdown Park hotel, Gorey, on Monday next, 6th December, at 7.30.
29-11-04: Kennedy Cup trials.
Best wishes to Mikey Whyte who takes part in the final set of trials for the WDSL U-13 panel for the 2005 Kennedy Cup. The trials are on in Arklow on Saturday next, December 4th- we wish Mikey all the best.

20-11-04: Seagulls promoted.
Congratulations to Bray Wanderers on gaining promotion to the Eircom League Premier Division. It took a bit longer than expected but the end result is what counts.

For the second weekend in a row the weather played havoc with the fixtures list. All of our teams were again left idle. Here's hoping for a dry spell!

Former Wolfe Tone YC player James O'Connor has moved from Premiership side West Brom to Championship side Burnley on a loan deal.

Ireland's cerebral palsy footballers ended their Paralympic seven-a-side tournament involvement with a 4-0 win over the American team in the 7/8th place play-off. Monaghan teenager Joseph Markey scored twice as Paul Cassin's side ended the competition on a high. Bray teen Gary Messett and Dubliner

Congratulations to Sean Murphy, Wolfe Tone U-13, who netted his 100th goal in schoolboy/girl football this weekend (v St. Anthonys).
06-09-04: Wrestling at Wolfe Tone Community Centre.
Sunday September 26th - Wolfe Tone Community Centre. Vevay Road, Bray. Co. Wicklow at 7.30pm. First Ever NWA Ireland Champion to be crowned at this event. Admission is at the door and is 10 Euro for ringside seats (entire front row). All other seats are 8 Euro for Adults and 7 Euro for Children (under 12 years).

01-09-04: Wolfe Tone YC's Olympian on his way.
Best wishes to Gary Messett who travels to Athens as part of the Ireland Paralympic football squad this weekend. The squad are flying to Cyprus first, then onto Athens where the games open on September 17th. Ireland play their first game v Ukraine on Sept. 19. Then it's Argentina on Sept. 21 and Iran on Sept. 23. Congratulations to Gary and we wish him all the best.
26-08-04: New season.
The new WDSL season kicks off next weekend, 4-5 September. Wolfe Tone YC intend having 10 teams competing in Wicklow and two in Dublin. That is: two u-8 teams, three u-9's, two u-10's and teams at u-11, u-12, u-13. Also, our u-15 and u-17 teams will compete in the DDSL.
23-08-04: International mascot.
Congratulations to Gerrard Curran, Wolfe Tone YC U-8C, who was mascot at the recent international friendly at Lansdowne Road- Ireland v Bulgaria.
FAI Pepsi Summer Soccer Schools.
The very popular FAI Pepsi Summer Soccer School will be hosted by Wolfe Tone Youth Club from 23-27 August 2004. Further information and an application form can be found on the FAI website.
11-07-04: Visit from America.
On Saturday 24 July, Wolfe Tone U-16 will play a game against Great Falls FC U-16 who hail from Great Falls, Virginia, USA. Their group leader is Randy Pherson and their coach is David Kenna (an Irishman).
The game will be the second of their tour. The group are staying at UCD in Dublin and are only in Ireland for 3 nights, the rest of the Tour is in England and Scotland.
The tour is organised by Mike Edwards of Three Rivers Sports Tours who is travelling with the group.
29-06-04: Presentation Day.
This year's Presentation Day takes place on Sunday 18th July at 3pm in the Centre.
19-06-04: Mini Euro 2004.
Wolfe Tone Youth Club are running a Mini Euro 2004 competition for members with games being played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
26-06-04: Visit from Kilkenny.
Wolfe Tone Youth Club entertained Ormonde Villas from Kilkenny on Saturday 26 June. Our Academy, U-8, U-9 and U-10 teams all played games against the visitors. The games took place at Loreto as the heavy rain made the Vevay pitch unplayable. However, the rain cleared, the sun shone and it was a great day for all involved. A return visit is planned.
19-06-04: Club Mass.
The Club Mass for past members and friends will be held in the Centre on Tuesday 22nd June at 8 pm.
06-06-04: Shield Finals.
On Sunday June 6th, at Newtown, Wolfe Tone U-14's won the Premier Division Shield in an enthralling game versus St. Anthonys. The game finished 1-1 and, after extra time, Wolfe Tone won the penalty shoot-out 3-1. Well done to all involved on a great game and a great result.
On Saturday, in the Carlisle Grounds, Wolfe Tone U-11's lost the Division Two Shield Final 3-2, despite being 2-0 up at half time.
31-05-04: WDSL Cup Finals.
Congratulations to Wolfe Tone U-9A who won the U-9 Premier Division Cup in Ferndale Park on Sunday last. Two second half goals from sub Gerard Byrne and one from Daniel McGrane saw them defeat Ardmore A 3-0. Despite their best efforts, our U-9B, U-10 and U-11 teams were beaten in their finals.
27-05-04: Irish paralympic squad at Lansdowne.
Wolfe Tone U-16 player Gary Messett appeared at Lansdowne Road this evening as part of the Athens bound Ireland paralympic squad. The squad played an exhibition game during half time in the Ireland- Romania friendly game.
25-05-04: Saturday morning Academy.
The Academy will have their final session this Saturday, 29 May. It will resume on Saturday 24th July. The cost for the new season will be €40 to cover the cost of gear. Application forms from Paul McManus: 086- 819 3917.
23-05-04: WDSL Player of the Year.
Congratulations to Patrick Lambe, WTYC U-14, who was named player of the year at the WDSL AGM on 20th May 2004.
Club A.G.M. Tuesday 25th May 2004. 8 pm sharp.
It is very important that all members attend this A.G.M. as we need more people getting involved in future events of this club. The kids need your help.
27-04-04: Quick goal!
Gerard Byrne scored one of the fastest goals ever seen in the WDSL for Wolfe Tone U-9A on Sunday last.
Away to Wicklow Rovers A, Wolfe Tone went one up in under 10 seconds. The game finished 1-1.
20-04-04: U8 Super Sevens day on April 25th.
The WDSL Under-8 Super Sevens day was held on Sunday, April 25th, in the Royal Hotel in Bray. Over 400 players from all over the county attended with Bray Wanderers players presenting the certificates.
18-04-04: FAI coach attends at Wolfe Tone YC.
On Saturday morning, April 17th, FAI Development Officer Paul Sheridan gave a coaching session at Wolfe Tone Youth Club.
In attendance were coaches and parents of our Under 8, 9 and 10 teams. Our U8C and U8D teams were willing participants and enjoyed the session immensely.
Paul spent around two hours passing on valuable coaching tips and ideas and spent time at the end explaining the various FAI organised coaching courses available.
These courses resume in August.
The Club thanks Paul for his time and also thanks to all who took the time to attend this worthwhile session.
08-04-04: Casino night proves a big hit.
People from all around the area were living it up Las Vegas style last Friday night, in the form of a fun 'Casino Night' that was held in the Royal Hotel.
Over 250 people were at the event where they all turned up in their gladrags and itching to spend their hard earned cash. Serious money was made on the night and two worthy groups, the Spinal Injuries Action Association and the Wolfe Tone Youth Club, benefitted from the night of glitz and glam and not to mention the gambling.
The huge crowd enjoyed a night of mind boggling Blackjack and money spinning Roulette. A disco followed after the nights gambling where the money spent crowd danced until the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Spinal Injuries Action Association and Wolfe Tone Youth Club wish to extend their thanks to everyone involved for the fun and successful night.

Gary Messett in Holland with Ireland CPI Olympics squad.
The Ireland CPI soccer team have won a pre-Paralympic tournament in Holland during the week to continue their preparations for Athens 2004.
Ireland were unbeaten during the group stages of the tournament as they beat the USA 4-0, Iceland 8-1 and drew with Holland 1-1 to earn a place in the final with their Dutch hosts who they then saw off 1-0 thanks to an Alan O'Hara goal.
There was double reason for Ireland to celebrate with striker Finbar O'Riordan also claiming the golden boot in the tournament.
