U10D's road to League Div. 3 Title 2009-10.
Four goals each by Shane Mangan and Andrew Duncan fired Wolfe Tone
Youth D to the U10 Division 3 League title in the Heatons/Sportsworld
WDSL.
The visitors proved too good for Greystones United C at the Woodlands
on Saturday December 5th last.
Conor Harman was also on the mark in the 9-0 victory they pushed the
‘Blue’s over the winning line.
Back in September, the Bray side began their season with an 8-0
triumph over Enniskerry C.
Mangan, Duncan and Harman were among the goals at the Temple
Sportsfield with Jack Fitzgerald (2), Ben Mullen and Dan Worrall
completing their tally.
A week later, they defeated local rivals Ardmore Rovers B 5-1 at the
Ballywaltrim Recreational Park.
Stephen Ogilvy bagged a double with Mullen, Worrall and Dillon Chow
chipping in with singles.
The winning streak continued at the end of the month with both Harman
and Duncan scoring four times in a 12-0 home success over Greystones.
Worrall claimed a hat-trick with Dillon Ford also finding the net in
that fixture.
October brought a fourth straight win when Duncan scored twice as they
saw off St. Anthony’s B 2-1 at the Temple Sportsfield.
They then made it a clean sweep over the other five club’s in the
section when recording a 4-1 win over Rathnew AFC when Ogilvy’s brace
was added to by Worrall and Glynn Jones.
Mullen’s lone strike was then enough to take all three points at St.
Anthony’s Park in Kilcoole when edging out St. Anthony’s 1-0.
But Wolfe Tone fell to their only loss in their next outing when going
down to Rathnew 1-0 at Shamrock Park.
The Blue’s bounced back with Mullen and Duncan on the score-sheet in a
2-1 home win over Ardmore.
Their eighth victory came at the end of November as Chow netted twice
at Ballyman Road against Enniskerry.
Worrall, Duncan and Ogilvy were also on the mark in the 5-0 triumph.
With their league now completed, the ‘Club’s record is played ten; won
nine and lost once.
They had a 100% away record, winning all five matches on the road.
In total, the team scored 47 times, conceded just five goals and kept
five clean sheets.
The victorious Wolfe Tone panel consists of Shane Mangan, Dillon Ford,
Jake Cullen, Georgia Browne, Dillon Chow, Jack Fitzgerald, Ryan
Cromwell, Conor Harman, Stephen Ogilvy, Glynn Jones, Andrew Duncan,
Dan Worrall and Ben Mullen
