Abbey Community College, Wicklow has a long tradition based on the provision of quality education for the young people of Wicklow and its environs since its doors were first opened in 1905. All those associated with the college are proud of its traditions, achievements, quality staff and nowadays the modern facilities of the establishment as a whole. The College is co-educational and presently the number of pupils enrolled stands at 430. Students may avail of a wide variety both of subjects and courses at all levels. Also on offer is an exciting Adult Education Programme aimed at providing interesting and varied classes for those in the community in general.

The integration of Information Technology into the curriculum has become a central part of school policy and encompasses school management, staff, parents and those in the wider community. The number of computers available is constantly on the increase and computers - many of which are linked to the Internet, have been installed in several classrooms.

High on our list of priorities at the Abbey Community College is the development of a Web site, which will in the future:

  • Become a source of general information about the College

  • Become the basis of specific information for parents and students alike

  • Provide links with other sites of interest to parents, students and teachers

  • Offer past pupils of the college the opportunity of remaining in touch with their 'Alma Mater'

  • Enable people from all over the world to join us in friendship and to become better informed about what we strive to achieve the area of education.

You are a welcome visitor to this web site and I hope you will find its contents both interesting and informative.

Tá céad míle fáilte romhat!

Mr. T Tyrrell, Principal.
