Subjects Available to Junior Cycle
Blackwater Community School offers a wide range of subjects for both Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations. In First Year, students are offered a broad Curriculum facilitating the transition from Primary to Post Primary school.

Students are surveyed at the end of 1st Yearand their subject preferences are fed into the Option Programme. It designs the option bands to suit the highest percentage of students. Option bands are different each year as we aim to facilitate the maximum of students in the study of the subjects of their choice.
Junior Certificate students study 11 subjects for examination and they also study S.P.H.E., P.E., and I.T. bringing the total number of subject studied by Junior Certs to 14.
