Pastoral and Disciplinary Systems

Our aim as educators is to cultivate in our students the virtues essential to a Christian community and to foster an appreciation of the values enshrined in our heritage and culture. Full and honest participation in all school activities is required to further personal development, good citizenship and academic progress. Our concern is the total development and well being of each student.

We strongly assert the right of all teachers and students to work in a harmonious and non-threatening environment.

We believe that our teachers care for their students and that education takes place in a genuinely caring atmosphere. It is the policy of the school that each class is designated one teacher as Class Teacher who is responsible for that class. The role of the Class Teacher is pastoral in nature and the duties of the Class Teacher include instilling a good class spirit and collective responsibility amongst the students.

A Student Welfare Committee closely monitors each student’s overall formation, progress and happiness in the school.

The school has a Code of Behaviour, which clearly defines the high standards of behaviour expected of our students.

Discipline in each Year Group is monitored by a Dean of Discipline.

The Discipline Committee in the school ensures adherence by students to the Code of Behaviour.

The Code of Behaviour is communicated to all families each September.
