Assessment Tests

Assessment tests for First Year students will be held on Saturday 8th February 2003.

The purpose of the assessment tests is to determine each student’s particular strengths and/or weaknesses in the subjects Irish, English and Mathematics. On the basis of these tests students of similar ability levels in each of these subjects are grouped together for classes. However, flexibility is allowed to students in that they can move from one class group to another on the basis of their performance in three formal examinations held throughout the year.

For all other subjects classes are organised on the basis of mixed ability groupings.
