Congratulations to our U9B team who won the Division One Cup in Kilcoole today, beating Greystones E by 2-0 in a well contested final.
Paul Dowling reports: Two goals in the space of 30 seconds paved the way for Wolfe Tone Youth Club U9B to claim the Division One Cup. Both scores came in the 16th minute of the second half at St. Anthonys park in Kilcoole on Sunday morning.
The first arrived when a corner was cleared. James Keogh drove into a crowded penalty area. The ball took two deflections before bouncing past an unsighted Joe Gerrard.
United had barely tipped off when Wolfe Tone's Dylan Terry won possession. He let fly from 20 yards with the ball squirming under Gerrard's dive.
Stones- who fielded players from six different countries- had gone close five minutes earlier when Michael Diggins was denied by Andrew Prylowski's brave save after good work by Sean Duff. *Link removed*
