A date stone, 1722, was found in the attic which would accord with the style. Carrigan says the house was new in 1810, but he was probably referring to a remodelling. Gerald Doyle, grandson (of Gerald Byrne?), inherited the property in 1760. The Doyles were not locals. William Doyle died1847, the last resident Doyle died in 1939 after which came the Hanlan family. The Whites bought the house in 1986.
