2.9.1857 Garryricken –Walter Marquis of Ormond rendered the Garryricken mansion one of the most splendid in the south of Ireland. It was thrown down sometime after 1815. After a lapse of more than 20 years the Dowager Marchioness of Ormonde raised the present mansion on its ruins. [Mod]
